Fat People Art

exceedinglytrans asked: Can we submit other people's art, if we link you to them? Because sometimes I see pictures other people have done that I think would be great to showcase here, but they're not mine (I don't draw much or well).

You can totally submit other people’s art that you find! Just credit them.

One thing I am cautious of, however, is pictures of real people who don’t explicitly identify themselves as “fat”. While we here at FPA obviously see nothing wrong with being fat, actually calling yourself fat is a personal and sometimes complicated decision. We won’t force that label on someone. A lot of people may not like seeing their self-portrait reblogged by Fat People Art, or a picture of their girlfriend, or best friend, etc. There have been lots of times when I wanted to reblog such pictures but knew it wouldn’t be taken as the compliment I saw it as. Everyone is a lot happier across the board if we let people figure this stuff out at their own pace and call themselves fat when they’re ready. And when that happens, we will reblog the hell out of them. :)
